Popular local band Horizon Lights is celebrating ten years of performing with a special Anniversary concert in the Falcon Hotel, Bromyard. The programme draws on the band’s extensive repertoire of folk tunes and songs from the British Isles, America and Eastern Europe. The distinctive vocals of Viv Bell are given energetic support by accordionist Andrew Rothery, Allyson Craigan on fiddle and Graham Foord’s expressive mandolin playing. For this special concert they will be joined by Ian Craigan to add some punchy percussion to the sound.
As an added bonus, the concert on Wednesday 12 October features guest performer Karen Tweed. Karen is a leading light on the international folk scene both as a solo artist and as a member of bands like The Poozies. Her virtuoso accordion playing is wacky and inspirational, a unique performer.
Viv says ‘We chose the Falcon because it is a great music venue and Bromyard has always been a welcoming place for the Lights. The concert is a chance to thank friends and supporters and hopefully meet a few new ones!’
Tickets for the concert are £7.50, available from the Falcon Hotel, Bromyard HR7 4BT or via the event website
Horizon Lights has been featured in the August 2016 edition of “All about Worcester”. Here’s the article . . .
